First night had a small cosy room at a reduced rate. Second night a different rate & a stunning view of the sunset, over the bay. Bucketed with rain. Spring...bring an umbrella. Waterfront good place to see NZ sea birds....terns, gulls, cormorants (shags). Kitchen was clean & tidy, with all amenities.

This beautiful seaside accommodation provided everything and more than I expected. I decided to book the first three nights to rest after catching an illness and I ended up spending five nights there because it was so peaceful and homely; it honestly felt like recuperating at my own house. The room was comfy, warm and clean, the toilets spotless and the showers hot and roomy. The kitchen is modern and really well equipped, especially for such a small place. It had everything and beyond of what I needed. The lounge is super cozy and has a great view of the seaside while the garden is a great place to enjoy a meal in the sun. All of the staff were super friendly and the owner kept on checking how I was feeling which I found really nice. Not to mention the value, which is beyond great for what you get, with a great location and comfortable stay. Overall, it is thanks to Moana Lodge that I'm back on the road so quickly and I'll never forget my time there.

The view! There is a superb view of the ocean from the lounge. Friendly staff. Good showers. Well set up kitchen. Sparkling clean. Quiet.

Really clean with well equipped kitchen. Spacious dining area and communal room (sitting area). Good bathroom facilities, that were super clean. Stayed in a shared room, and liked that you could here the sea outside. Only hostel I could find that had free parking and where Wellington was also accessible.

This stay is perfect. Multiple clean and comfortable toilets and showers. A big kitchen with all you need to cook and enjoy a meal. A dining room with multiple tables for guests. A front room with views of the water. A beautiful outdoor space. Easy laundry and lines to hang items. The bed was comfortable and the sound of the water was amazing to sleep to. The check in was smooth and staff was friendly.

Beautiful waterfront location, very clean and comfortable. Nicest hostel setting I have stayed in a long time. Street parking was no issue. The property is retro but clearly has been freshly renovated or refreshed with much love and care. The sitting lounge was a particularly lovely touch, like being in a private home.

For shared kitchen and bathrooms, there were enough and ample space for each unit. So it felt like you have your own personal facilities. The staff and guests were all friendly.

Moana Lodge is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The staff was incredibly welcoming, everything was spotless, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The common areas were cozy and comfortable. My room was also very comfortable. Plus, there’s free street parking. I absolutely loved my stay here. It went beyond my expectations!

Location was perfect, facilities excellent, host were welcoming, friendly and accomodating, everything was just perfect for my myself & grandsons 4 day stay .... ❤️😊 ....will definitely recommend 💯
